Roasted cabbage sprouts with potatoes

In Austria, cabbage sprouts are almost always cooked and, if possible, served with real butter. We have an excellent alternative. The combination of roasted aromas and the smoky Tyrolean spices make it a very special side dish.


  • 200g cabbage sprouts (Brussels sprouts)
  • 200g waxy potatoes (potato)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3 tbsp Tyrolean seasoning
  • pepper


Clean the cabbage sprouts and halve large sprouts. Peel the potatoes and cut them into pieces that are similar in size to the sprouts. Mix the cabbage sprouts and potatoes thoroughly with the oil and place on a baking tray. Roast in the oven at 180°C for 25 minutes, then turn and roast for another 10 minutes.

Immediately before serving, season with the Tyrolean seasoning and pepper and enjoy.
