On cold days there is nothing better than a hearty soup that fills us up. Onion soup meets these requirements with ease.

Ingredients for 4 persons:
4 onions
2 cloves of garlic
2 tablespoons oil or clarified butter
1 tsp sugar
200ml beer
1/2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp tomato paste
1l water
4 tbsp Viennese seasoning
200g grated hard cheese

The ones cut into strips Onions along with chopped Garlic , Sugar and oil caramelize in a pot. Tomato paste add, then with Beer , Viennese spice and Water Pour on and simmer gently for about 30 minutes. Cornstarch Stir in a little cold water until smooth and stir into the boiling soup to obtain a creamy consistency. Let it cook well again. Pour the soup into fireproof bowls, Baguette slices put in the soup, with the grated Hard cheese Sprinkle and bake in the oven using the grill function and serve.
