Spicy cookies with Viennese spice

Spicy cookies with Viennese spice are a surprise and a welcome one at that. Who doesn't know the feeling in the run-up to Christmas: sweet punch, sweet cookies, sweets wherever you reach? You look forward to it all year long, but at some point it's just too much. Especially when you're sitting comfortably with family and friends, you constantly reach for the plate of cookies, even though you don't really want to eat anything sweet anymore. We have THE alternative for the cookie plate: with the savory cookies with Viennese spice you can escape the sweet madness and still enjoy snacking on cookies. Simply delicious and easy to make. We promise your guests will love it and ask you for the recipe. So let’s get to the savory cookies. Use cookie cutters and various herbs, nuts, spices and cheese for sprinkling. The imagination knows no limits.

ORGANIC INGREDIENTS:

  • 280g plain flour
  • 50g butter
  • 100g grated Parmesan
  • 40 g Viennese seasoning
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • some pepper & nutmeg

For decoration:

  • chopped pumpkin seeds
  • Sunflower seeds
  • linseed
  • Paprika powder
  • Herbs

PREPARATION:

For the savory cookies, knead all the ingredients into a dough. Roll out the dough about 2mm thin and cut it out. Brush with egg and sprinkle with sesame, herbs, paprika powder, cheese, etc. if desired. Bake in a preheated oven at 170 degrees for about 7-10 minutes until light brown.

If you like it even spicier, you can use TirolerWürze instead of WienerWürze or, for fiery hot cookies, SchoarfeWürze .
